Altuzarra is a luxury women’s ready-to-wear brand launched in New York in 2008 by Joseph Altuzarra, embodying the quintessential modern woman.

Through his multicultural upbringing and his international education and training in fashion, Altuzarra was borne out of the desire to make the sophisticated modern woman feel sexy and confident.

Since its first season, Altuzarra has been consistent in establishing and refining its hallmark style — subversive in nature, fiercely feminine and merged with an authentic French heritage.

Born and raised in Paris by a Chinese-American mother and a French father, Joseph Altuzarra graduated from Swarthmore College with a B.A. in Art and Art History. Upon heading to New York, he interned at Marc Jacobs before his post at Proenza Schouler. Seeking to further enhance his technical construction skills, Joseph then apprenticed with patternmaker Nicolas Caïto, the former head of the Rochas atelier. Joseph later returned to Paris, working as first assistant to Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci.

From the outset of Altuzarra, Joseph’s unique perspective and refined vision have been noted globally. Most recently he was awarded the CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear Design in 2012 and the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2011. Other awards include: Fashion Group International Rising Star of the Year, Out 100 Vanguard of the Year, Ecco Domani Award and Forbes 30 under 30.

Altuzarra is currently available in over 50 stockists worldwide and online.
